Product scopes in Taska

A product scope is a product search that tells Taska which products a Listing Plan covers. You can use a search you saved in AI Settings, or build one right in the plan editor.

Where you use scopes

  • In the plan editor, under 1. What products?, choose All products, one of your saved scopes, or Enter custom search.
  • In AI Settings, under Saved product scopes for listing, save up to 10 searches you use often. They then appear in the plan editor's list.
  • In chat, when you ask Taska to work on a set of products, Taska suggests a scope and asks you to confirm it. Click Yes, use this scope to accept it, or No, something else to describe the products another way.

Two ways to build a search

Choose Guided options to build the search from conditions, or Search text to type it yourself.

Guided options

  1. Click + Add condition.
  2. Choose a field. Any text field searches the SKU, GUID, title and description. You can also pick from Product fields, Channel fields (shown as, for example, eBay · Title), Vendor fields and Your custom fields.
  3. Choose a rule. Only rules that fit the field appear:
    • Text: is, is not, is any of, contains, does not contain, starts with, ends with, is set, is not set
    • Numbers: is, is not, is any of, is at least, is at most, is more than, is less than
    • Yes or no: is, is not
    • Dates: is before, is after, is within the last, is older than, is within the next, is set, is not set
  4. Enter the value. For is any of, type each value and press Enter.

Add more conditions the same way. A product must match every condition to be included. To match one of several values, use a single condition with is any of. Click the X on a row to remove it.

Under the conditions, a line reads your search back in plain English, for example "products where Brand is Acme, Quantity is at least 1, and Condition is New". Click View the search this creates to see it as search text.

Search text

Type or paste a SureDone search, the same search syntax used elsewhere in SureDone. Click Search syntax help for the full syntax. As you type, the box suggests matching field names and flags mistakes, such as a missing quotation mark or bracket, before you save.

If you switch from Search text back to Guided options, your search is cleared and you start over.

Worked examples

  • One brand: Brand is Acme. Search text: brand:=Acme
  • In stock only: Quantity is at least 1. Search text: stock:>=1
  • New items from one brand that are in stock: Brand is Acme, Quantity is at least 1, and Condition is New. Search text: brand:=Acme stock:>=1 condition:=New
  • Several brands: Brand is any of Acme, Zenith. Search text: (brand:=Acme brand:=Zenith)
  • Leave out refurbished items: Title does not contain refurbished. Search text: title:-"refurbished". Products with no title are left out too.
  • Products with no brand yet: Brand is not set. Search text: brand:=

Check what matches

As you build the search, Taska shows how many products match and a sample of them. Click See all matches to page through every match. If nothing matches, adjust the search before saving.

Plan size limit: A Listing Plan covers up to 1,000 products. If your search matches more, Taska plans the first 1,000, so narrow the search or split your products across several plans.

Save a scope in AI Settings

  1. Go to Taska AI, then Settings.
  2. Under Saved product scopes for listing, click + Add scope.
  3. Build the search with Guided options or Search text.
  4. Optionally, choose channels under Limit to channels. Leave them all unchecked to allow every channel, or choose Use my default channels so the scope always follows your Default channels to list, including channels you add there later.
  5. Click Save scope. The row shows Saved for a moment.

To change a saved scope, click Edit. To remove it, click Delete and confirm. Plans you already created with a scope aren't affected when you change or delete it.

Each search can be up to 2,000 characters, and a scope can be limited to up to 10 channels. You need the Manage AI settings permission to change saved scopes. See "Taska AI Settings".
