Amazon Listings API Upgrade - July 2025

SureDone is launching our integration with the new SP-API endpoints to manage Amazon listings. These new APIs come with a number of benefits and will help sellers more easily get new items listed to Amazon as well as improve performance for maintaining existing listings. These changes will go into place on Tuesday, July 29th.

Changes with the integration update:

  • Product types and attributes
    • Amazon has introduced more granular categorization, with fields differing by Product Types (~1000 different schemas) rather than by Parent Category (~50 different schemas). This will automatically be reflected in the product details section when selecting a category.
    • The Manage Fields mapping will now allow users to map custom fields in SureDone to specific fields on Amazon by default (meaning it will be used for all Product Types) or map different SureDone custom fields per product-type, which is similar to how the Manage Fields mapping has worked up until now.
  • Improved data validation and listing feedback
    • Before even attempting to list an item, SureDone will validate your data against Amazon's product schema and provide actionable messages clarifying what to fix before posting the item.
    • Posting or revising a listing from the SureDone website will often return instant success or an error with feedback. There will still be situations where errors are not returned immediately, in which case the Errors report or Logs can be used to identify any errors returned by Amazon.
    • Posting or revising listings using a bulk upload will continue to queue data before sending it to Amazon and push feeds to Amazon, though now any error messages from Amazon should be cleaner and more specific.
  • ASIN syncing
    • If an ASIN is not specified at the time of posting the listing from the SureDone website, Amazon tries to return any potential errors right away, but they do not provide all data back immediately, including which ASIN the item was posted to. For this reason, SureDone will now sync ASINs from the Amazon Listing Report and will update the ASIN field on the product with the correct value, if this field is blank and the item is included in the listing report.
  • Offer Only mode
    • The setting "Send only ASIN" is being replaced with a setting called "Offer Only". The existing value (enabled or disabled) for this setting will remain the same.
      • When enabled, SureDone will only send price, inventory, and shipping data for a product when trying to post a listing, which greatly reduces the chance of error when posting to an existing ASIN.
      • When disabled, SureDone will send full catalog data for this item as if trying to create or revise the listing data. This can result in data errors if editing of the listing data is not permitted, so its recommended not to use this option when posting to existing listings.
      • This setting can be overridden on the product level to accommodate business models where some items are posted to existing listings and others are generating new listings on Amazon.
  • Feed consolidation
    • Until now, Amazon required different types of product data to be sent in separate feeds (inventory, prices, images, shipping info, variation info, and product data). With this upgrade, all of the listing data is sent in a single feed instead of in separate feeds.
      • This means that logs showing the data posted to Amazon will no longer be broken into separate log entries per feed, but will instead be available in a single log entry.

How to prepare:

Sellers do not need to do anything prior to the 7/29/2025 migration date.
After the upgrade takes affect that day, there will be few changes to the Amazon product details on the product pages, including the updated Product Types, but otherwise there are not many changes to the existing Amazon listing management experience.

After the upgrade on July 29th, we ask all users to report any issues or questions they encounter when doing any of the following:

  • Posting new listings on Amazon in bulk or via the SureDone website
  • Updating inventory, price, or any other listing details on existing Amazon listings

Any questions or issues after the migration should be reported to our team at support.suredone.com or by emailing support@suredone.com. We ask that you include examples and details of the issue in the ticket to expedite our ability to resolve it and to use the most urgent priority level P1 only for critical issues impacting large numbers of listings or critical functionality like updating inventory.

Note: The orders integration has not been updated and no changes will occur for Amazon orders.
